Frequently Asked
Questions

Why use the service of an accommodation consultant to find your residence?

The residential market offers a host of services that differ from one residence to another. Each residence has its own unique character and it is easy to get lost. The Accès Résidences accommodation advisor knows the residences, their services as well as all the small details that are often overlooked by the future resident. The residences are regularly evaluated by our team and it is our pleasure to offer you the best on the market. The service is completely free and saves you precious time.

Is it really free and how is it possible?

Our service is kindly offered to you by the residences of the private network. When you do business with Accès Résidences, not only do you benefit from the prices and promotions in effect, you can also have access to certain advantages exclusive to Accès Résidences customers.

What types of residences can you offer us?

Accès Résidences deals with private sector residences. Whether it is an independent, semi-autonomous, progressive residence, specialized in Alzheimer's or other cognitive disorders, family residence or even CHSLD, we have all types of residences at our fingertips.

My relative is in the hospital, can you come and meet him?

Of course! Whether at the hospital or at home, the Accès Résidences advisors are happy to meet with you in order to assess and above all fully understand the needs of the future resident.

What if the situation is urgent?

The Accès Résidences advisors are specialists in urgent situations. If your loved one has to leave the hospital shortly; no problem!

Contact us and we'll be happy to help you find the solution in no time. Private sector residences generally do not have long waiting lists as they do in the public sector. Our advisors are aware of the availability in your area and can act quickly. In addition, as we are specially trained for these urgent and complex situations, we will know how to find a quality place that meets the needs of your loved one.

This service is available every day of the year. Is there any financial assistance?

If you are 70 years of age and over, you are eligible for the Home Maintenance Tax Credit. The amount of credit differs, among other things, depending on the services offered by the residence and the status of the resident (autonomous or non-autonomous). The credit is returned as a monthly deposit into the user's bank account. In addition, under certain conditions, you may also be eligible for the Housing Allowance program. There are other government financial assistance programs whose conditions change regularly. Your advisors will be able to give you more details.

I have to terminate my lease, how does it work?

The law of the Régie du Logement provides for an obligation for the tenant to give two months notice to the landlord when terminating the lease to go and live in a seniors' residence. The notice can be given in writing to the landlord two months before leaving or pay the two months notice (on the rent portion only) depending on the situation. Contact us for more information or visit the Régie du logement website.
